Municipal councillors demand same R1.3m annual salary as MPs

salgaDaily News reports that analysts have warned that a demand by the SA Local Government Association (Salga) to increase the salaries of all councillors – irrespective of the size of their municipality – to R1.3 million a year would be disastrous for the economy and could lead to tax increases.
