Mine safety a ‘red flag’ for DMR as number of fatalities rises

miners2Mining Weekly reports that Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) Minister Mosebenzi Zwane said on Friday that the number of fatalities at mines in South Africa this year was at risk of surpassing the 77 mineworkers’ deaths recorded in 2015.
