‘Massive’ gold find at Grootvlei and fall-out between illegal miners sparked war that left 15 dead

gunAccording to illegal miners who spoke to Sowetan, the violence that left 15 people dead at the abandoned Grootvlei mine in Springs a fortnight ago was sparked by the discovery of gold deposits in the mine a few days before the deadly shooting between rival groups.
