It is not often that an individual can make the statement “I told you so”, however, it appears that what all the economists and labour experts have been telling the government for the past two years has come to pass.  Throughout the debate on the call for the banning on labour brokers and the eventual restriction on the labour broking industry the experts have said that this will lead to further job losses.  Indeed this has now proved to be the case.

It is early days yet and it is feared that as the businesses get their house in order more and more temporary employment staff will lose their jobs only to be replaced by mechanisation and more efficient business structure.  The reality is that South Africa needs to create more jobs and not to have jobless growth.  Worldwide atypical employment has grown in leaps and bounds.  In south Africa our government is trying to smother any form of atypical employment.  The government is succeeding in its endeavours to destroy jobs.
