Gold mines’ claim of better living for miners a sign of panic, says NUM

houseSowetan reports that the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has rejected claims by AngloGold Ashanti (AGA), Gold Fields, Harmony Gold and Sibanye Gold that they have turned around the lives of their workers by offering them better accommodation and says that the R1.5-billion that the gold producers have spent on accommodation on the mines is a smokescreen.
