Amcu claims substandard safety equipment, procedures led to Implats deaths

implatsMining Weekly Online reports that Joseph Mathunjwa, president of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu), said on Wednesday that the deaths of four miners at Impala Platinum’s (Implats’) Rustenburg mine was the consequence of “clandestine observance of safety procedures and poor investment in health and safety equipment by employers”.
