Lay-offs at Highveld Steel avoided with placements in state training scheme

evrazNetwerk24 reports that Highveld Steel has agreed with its trade unions that 600 of its employees will be placed on the government’s training lay-off scheme, which means they will be protected against retrenchment for at least six months.
