Ranjeni Munusamy writes that dissidents in Cosatu backing expelled metalworkers union Numsa and the ousted general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi believed that, had they secured a vote by secret ballot on delegate credentials, the federation’s special national congress might have swung their way.
